Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (grade 4 students)

The Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) is an international reading assessment that is administered every five years to students in grade 4.

In addition to assessing reading literacy, the PIRLS contextual reports provide information about the impact of the home environment on reading achievement, how parents can foster reading literacy, and the impact of curriculum and classroom approaches to reading instruction. Please visit the PIRLS link in the right menu for additional information.

The charts below provide information about the 2006 administration of PIRLS; the results of the 2011 administration of PIRLS will be posted when available.
